PawPals Parlour’s Policies

By booking an appointment with PawPals Parlour, you agree to our terms and policies outlined below:

Prices and Fees:

  • Prices shown are BASE, MINIMUM PRICES. All prices are subject to change at the groomer’s discretion due to matting, coat condition, behaviour, and breed type.
  • Matted coats that take extra time will incur a “matting fee” of $15 for every 15 minutes over time.
  • Behavioural issues will incur a fee of $15 for every 15 minutes over time.
  • Compacted double-coated dogs will incur an additional fee of $15 for every 15 minutes over time.
  • Late drop-offs & pick-ups will incur a fee of $10 every 15 minutes.

 

Cancellation Policy: 

  • Cancellations with less than 48 hours’ notice will result in the absorption of your 50% deposit.
  • You must arrive on time for your appointment. Any late drop-off will incur a fee of $10 per 15 minutes.
  • We reserve the right to refuse appointments if late, and the deposit will be non-refundable.

 

Grooming Specifics:

  • Some nails cannot be cut short without vet treatment due to their quicks overgrowing.
  • Double-coated dogs will not be clipped without medical reason.
  • Matted dogs may not get the desired length as the mats will need to be taken short, incurring additional charges.
  • Matted dogs are at risk of razor burn due to blades heating up faster and being close to the skin.

 

Safety and Health:

  • We maintain the right to refuse to complete a groom due to aggression or any reason that puts us or the dog at risk of injury.
  • Accidents may occur.
  • If an accident occurs and veterinary assistance is required, dogs will be taken to the nearest vet unless otherwise specified and practical.
  • In the event that your dog needs medical attention during or after the groom, all expenses related to the medical treatment will be paid in full by the owner/guardian of the dog.
  • If the dog is highly stressed, some procedures may not be done to reduce the risk of future grooming issues.
  • Tools may be used during grooming, including muzzles and restraints, only if required.

 

Puppy Grooms:

  • Puppies may not get fully blow-dried or have a very neat cut depending on their stress levels to avoid creating problems for future grooms.

 

Fleas:

  • If the dog has fleas, it will be sent home immediately, and the deposit will be absorbed.

 

Owner Responsibilities:

  • The groomer must be notified of any known health conditions, allergies, skin tags, moles, and behavioural problems.
  • Cancellations with less than 24 hours’ notice will incur a 50% fee, which was paid during the online booking process.
