We’re a big family at PawPals and your dog is part of it. We get to know all our dogs personally, their little quirks, how they like to play and when it’s time to chill out and have a cuddle. We form a real bond with all of them so they are excited to come to day care to see us. Each team member is a fully qualified dog lover!! Together we bring all our experience and passion to give your dog everything they need to be happy and content all day.
Hi PawPals Community
I’m Angel, PawPals Bassendean’s new groomer.
I have been grooming for nearly 10 years and have my Certificate III in Companion Animal Studies and Certificate III in Pet Grooming. I’ve always had a great connection with my fur babies growing up and got into the grooming industry shortly after high school.
I’ve previously entered into dog grooming competitions at Perth Pet Expo and DGAofWA seminars with terrier breeds.
I own a kelpie Bella, who is going a bit senile in her old age and I love her so much. My favourite breed are Shetland Sheepdogs and I plan on getting a Shetland in the future as my first puppy experience.
I’m so looking forward to meeting you all and grooming your fur babies
Hey, I am Bryony ☺️
Most of you at Bassendean will have met me over the past few years. I started working for Laura almost 5 years ago. How time flies when you are having fun!
I was lucky enough to have a mutual friend with Laura and when she opened PawPals he introduced us. At the time I was studying conservation biology at UWA but wanted to take a break and travel. After leaving university I was working as a pet sitter and waitress saving for a 3 month trip to Europe.
When Laura asked for volunteers I sprung on the opportunity and I have never looked back!! I love every day that I get to work with your lovely pooches and speak to you all.
I have studied Canine and Feline behaviour and have now been working with dogs for almost 11 years. I really am living the dream ❤️
I have 3 rescue dogs of my own, Jaxon a kelpie x, Glitch a border collie and Sky a kelpie x border collie but I always have a few extras at home for pet sits – like Marlee here in the photo who was happier to sit in for a picture rather than my own dogs! 🙈🤷♀️
Hi I’m Niamh (it’s pronounced n-e-v) but I’ll take anything going😂, I’ve recently moved to Perth and I originate from Ireland☘️ I joined PawPals at the end of January 2019 and I’ve enjoyed every single moment working alongside the girls and all your furbabies 🐶
I am an owner of two doggos back in Ireland, a cat, two donkeys and 14 chickens, I miss them all dearly so walking into Pawpals everyday fills my heart with what I’m missing from home! So many of your pooches have such amazing personalities, I may have hugged every dog possible to make up for missing my own and I love it! 😂😂
Before I joined I was a grooming assistant and had obtained my Level 3 Animal Care, however I joined the daycare side of the business and I haven’t looked back! Everything has been such an enjoyable experience.
I’ve always had a huge passion for animals and I still want to further my experience and opportunities working alongside them, this has been such a huge amazing bonus to be working at Pawpals with Laura and the girls ❤️
– Niamh 🙂 x
Hey everyone, I am Sarah M! I was originally a client at PawPals and expressed my interest in this field to Laura and Bryony about 6ish months ago and long story short, here I am today working at my dream job!
I’ve loved and adored dogs since I was a child. I’ve had dogs in my family since I was 10 years old and feel incomplete without one around. My family dog was a beagle named Jess and I adopted my little girl Mia, a red heeler x kelpie, from the RSPCA last year in February 🐶
I’m quite new to the daycare environment but have worked at a local City Farmers store for the past year where I’ve learnt all the basics about dog health, food, training/enrichment, behaviour and everything in between over that time.
I’d like to thank you all in advance for allowing me to play with your doggos but most importantly, grow and learn off them. Every dog is so unique and special and I love seeing how each dog interacts differently with one another. So to all the parents, THANKYOU! 😇
(Also big thanks to the PawPals gals who have already taught me so much and for further things I will learn 😎)
Thanks everyone, hope to meet you all soon!
– Sarah 🐾🌸
I’m Aoife and this is my pal Max who hangs out with me at our Malaga Facility💜
My journey with the PawPals Gals started back in 2017 when I decided to enrol my pooch Ruby into Daycare. I will never forget the feeling I had dropping her off that first day, I was a nervous wreck, Ruby on the other hand ran straight through the door without even looking back at me 🤷♀️😂 The reassurance I received from the girls was incredible and I instantly knew that PawPals was one of the best places for me to leave my precious pooch.
Fast forward a little bit, after always wanting to have a career with dogs and expressing this to Laura, I left my government job, enrolled in an online behavioural course and Laura gave me the chance to work alongside the amazing PawPalsGals.
I am forever grateful to you all for entrusting us with the care of your pooches on a daily basis – it is not something that is taken lightly and I thank my lucky stars every morning that this is what I get to do for a living. The amazing PawPals Gals have thought me so much and I would not be where I am today without them, I will never be able to thank them enough for sharing all their knowledge.
II am now Laura’s business partner at our Malaga facility and I genuinely want to thank you all for making this girls dreams come through because without you and your pooches it wouldn’t be possible 💕
I’ve been working for PawPals now for about 4 years and have loved every second of it! I started working at PawPals whilst I was studying my certificate III in Companion Animal Services and working as a groomer elsewhere doing primarily shave off’s and thinking grooming wasn’t for me. I decided to leave my job and work for Laura as I began to hate grooming and loved being in the daycare working with all your fuzz butts. 😍
Just over a year ago (January 2017), we opened up PawPals Parlour and I left the daycare side of things to primarily work in the Parlour where I was able to really spark my love for grooming and got to see the amazing side to it! Without PawPals Parlour, I wouldn’t be off competing in grooming competitions, loving making all your pooches beautiful, forever expanding my grooming knowledge and even winning Dogshares Australia’s Favourite Groomer for WA 2019 for the salon! ❤️
When I started at PawPals I had no pets of my own, now I have these two crazy Border Collies (Delilah left, Tonks right), a ridiculous amount of mice and am ever changing my aquariums. I went on to study my Dog Psychology and Behaviour and my Dog Behaviour and Training certificates and am looking to get a formal qualification in Dog Nutrition as it’s a huge passion of mine! I’m also an avid lover of dog sports and currently train Delilah in agility and do a lot of trick training with them whilst forever searching for more sports to join! 💪
– Annie ❤️💜
I’m Anika and I have been officially working at PawPals since February 2019. I did work experience here in 2018 while I completed my Certificate III in Animal Studies. I was lucky enough to be offered a job by Laura when I moved to Perth full time to study.
I am an avid lover of animals and dogs hold a special place in my heart ❤. I have two fur babies myself, an old staffy – Mia who I have had since I was 5 years old and Bindi, a rescue who found her way to me and my family around 2.5 years ago. I am currently studying a Bachelor of Science in Animal Health and hope to work in the animal industry for the rest of my life.
Working at PawPals, with this amazing team of women and all of your gorgeous pets has given me the opportunity to gain all kinds of skills around dog behaviour and animal handling. You know that saying, “choose a job you love and you’ll never have to work a day in your life?” Well for me, working at PawPals, this could not be more true!
I hope to be able to meet more of you amazing owners over my time working at PawPals and until then, thank you for letting me spend my time at work with your cute doggos!
– Anika 🐶💕
Hi everyone 👋
I came to PawPals in May last year after just over a decade working in retail. When I started, it was to complete my workplace learning for my Certification in Animal Studies (which i have recently completed). Once my hours were completed, Laura offered me a role to which I obviously wouldn’t turn down. Then I was absolutely thrilled to become Manager upon my return from my honeymoon in March. I plan on continuing my education in the near future by studying vet nursing then seeing where that could lead to next.
I love working with all of your beautiful dogs so much, it makes coming to work a lot easier knowing there will be loads of doggy cuddles waiting for me. I absolutely love hearing the quirky stories about your dogs outside of daycare because my 2 (Pocket & Kingston pictured below) have more than their fair share of quirks!
Thanks to everyone for making me feel so welcomed as a PawPalsGal 😁
I’m Sarah (yes there are two of us) and I have been working at PawPals since the beginning of March 2019. Before starting here I worked at another Perth dog daycare for about 5 years whilst completing my Cert III in companion animals at Tafe. After that I moved on to Petstock where I went from casual to acting manager, and before I left I was the longest serving puppy trainer in WA. During my time working in the animal industry I have gained knowledge in many areas including animal handling, nutrition and diet, dog training and behaviour. Like all the girls at PawPals I have a thirst for knowledge and want to keep learning. When I first arrived here I was welcomed with open arms by the girls, and received an even warmer welcome from your doggos 🐶 I am truly grateful to have found such a brilliant workplace which is so positive and supportive, and believe it or not your dogs teach me something new everyday. Plus the cuddles are pretty great too! ❤️🐾
My name is Ami and I started at PawPals back at the beginning of 2018.
You can find me at PawPals out the back giving your pooches many cuddles and kisses! I used to be afraid of large dogs but since being in the field I prefer to work with bigger dogs now 😅
The girls think I am some kind of German Shepherd whisperer as any GSD’s we get in seem to be obsessed with me!!
I have my Cert III in Companion Animal Studies, my certified in animal first aid and have previously worked in another daycare in Perth. I also do the occasional house sits for clients of PawPals as well.
During my 5 years in the industry I have learned so much and I am so grateful to be apart of such an amazing group of girls and our growing team 😁
